We often hear about weight loss, but the main goal is to reduce body fat. Lowering body fat percentage makes you look more toned and fit. Here are four key points for fat loss:
Eat Whole Foods: High body fat is often due to elevated insulin levels after eating, which reduces the body's ability to burn fat. The key to fat loss is simple: avoid foods that spike insulin and blood sugar levels. Stick to whole foods, as processed foods often contain flour and refined sugars that stimulate insulin, making it difficult for the body to burn fat.
Reduce Refined Sugar Intake: Avoid sugary drinks, candies, bubble teas, cakes, and desserts. During fat loss, eat fruits in moderation, with low-GI options like tomatoes and berries being preferable.
Get at Least 7 Hours of Sleep: Less than seven hours of sleep can cause stress, making it harder for the body to burn fat. Lack of sleep also affects metabolism, making fat loss more difficult.
Avoid Unhealthy Fats: Unhealthy vegetable oils, margarine, fried foods, and pastries can hinder fat loss.
Fat loss can be scientific. Listen to your body's signals. Your stomach is only the size of a fist, so distinguish between hunger and cravings. It's easy to stretch your stomach, but hard to shrink it back. In Hong Kong, you can enjoy various cuisines daily, but moderation is key. Eat less but savor more. You are what you eat. Focus on quality over quantity, eat smaller meals more frequently, and exercise regularly to say goodbye to excess fat.
Manager's Tip: During fat loss, it's best to avoid Hong Kong-style bread, croissants, puff pastries, scrambled eggs from tea restaurants, rice noodles, and sauces.
